I suppose I should start with some fantastic quote, or a great thoughtful saying or something.
. . . . . . I got nothing.
I'll just start with a reason for why I write. It's really a simple thing. I write to create. When I write, I can create people, kingdoms, and even entire worlds. These things may not "exist", but on the pages that they're written into they are real and continue to grow and change as the writer continues.
When a character is made, whether they are a street-rat fighting to survive, or an impoverished noble that hasn't a care in the world, they have dreams, they might have friends or family, they might be the main character or not but they still are real in the world they were written into.
Why do I write? I write to create new worlds, they'll only be real in the imaginations of the readers; but in their imagination, that people can escape to from the difficulties of normal life.
Every writer has their own process of writing, some work and some don't. My process. . . I'm not sure if it works or not, but I'll keep using it anyway. My process is to write the entire story as it comes to me, usually without elaborations or vivid descriptions. I go back to it later to input all of the imagery and other things.
